Legal Counsel (Regional Scope)

Our client, a well-established organisation, is seeking an experienced lawyer to join the Legal team in its Singapore office. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will take on a regional remit covering corporate and commercial matters, including contract negotiation, disputes and regulatory issues, while also contributing to global projects.

Responsibilities:

• Advise on commercial transactions, contracts and day-to-day business operations.
• Partner with business units to identify legal risks and develop practical, commercially sound solutions.
• Provide clear advice to stakeholders at all levels on corporate, regulatory, governance and compliance matters.
• Manage disputes and claims, working with external counsel where required.
• Help develop, implement and maintain compliance policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and advise the business on their impact.

Requirements:

• Qualified lawyer with at least 8 years PQE, preferably across a mix of private practice and in-house roles.
• Experience in commercial contracts, with banking and finance experience.
• Strong expertise in contract drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management, with the ability to deliver pragmatic, solution-focused legal advice.
• Experience handling cross-border matters and collaborating with diverse regional teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Solid commercial acumen and a practical approach to problem-solving.
