Legal Counsel / Senior Legal Counsel (Corporate Banking)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice to Corporate Banking segments and businesses and over Corporate Banking products and services, such as custody, lending, cash and trade products and services;
  • Provide legal support in projects from a Corporate Banking perspective such as fintech/digital banking projects and industry-wise or regulatory initiatives;
  • Develop house templates and draft/review internal policies and procedures;
  • Draft/review/negotiate contracts, agreements and T&Cs;
  • Keep abreast of legal and regulatory developments and advise on legal and regulatory issues; and
  • Liaise and work with external legal counsel to provide legal advisory services.

Requirements:

  • Qualified solicitor in Hong Kong with 8 years’ of PQE or more, but suitable candidates qualified in other common law jurisdiction or with less experience may also be considered.
  • Banking/finance experience from a reputable law firm or legal and compliance department of banking / financial institutions, preferably with custody and trust experience.
  • Good team player with first-rate analytical skills and the ability to identify and resolve issues in a fast-paced environment. Flexible and proactive.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese. Fluent in Mandarin is an advantage.
