Legal Counsel
You will manage day-to-day legal operations, corporate documentation, external counsel, regulatory research, compliance procedures, and legal support for product and service operations. You will research US and foreign laws, assist with regulatory matters, and help build an efficient legal operations process across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day legal operations within the company
- Manage the full cycle of corporate documentation from planning and drafting through implementation
- Build and improve a scalable legal operations process
- Manage external counsel as required
- Select, engage, and manage outside counsel across relevant jurisdictions
- Research US and foreign laws and regulations to support strategic business decisions
- Provide legal support for product development and service operations
- Assist with navigating the global regulatory landscape
Requirements
- Law degree
- Educational background in computer science or information security is a bonus
- 2+ years of work experience in a major law firm
- Experience servicing technology companies or financial institutions is preferred
- In-house counsel experience specializing in financial services, fintech, or crypto is a plus
- Ability to think critically through complex concepts and address them in an organized and efficient manner
- Ability to engage constructively with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a remote-only environment
- Ability to deliver results under time constraints and iterate consistently
- Familiarity with blockchain, Ethereum, and DeFi
