Legal Innovation Technologist (LIT)

Key Role:

The primary responsibilities will be to support the firm’s legal technology initiative and its overarching knowledge and innovation strategies. This includes the following:

  • Support the deployment, implementation, administration, and optimization of legal technology solutions, including reviewing, managing and monitoring adoption and user accounts.
  • Support risk management by maintaining appropriate records and compliance documentation to ensure user records are complete, accurate, confidential, and readily accessible when required.
  • Track and analyse usage metrics and prepare dashboards, reports, presentations, and business insights that support strategic decision-making.
  • Create and maintain project-related documentation and training materials to support the roll out of legal technology projects or initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve legal workflows through automation and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects involving legal operations, regulatory compliance,data governance, privacy initiatives, and enterprise technology adoption.
  • Organise and facilitate workshops, trainings, demos, and other technology-related events for the firm.
  • Support strategic projects or initiatives as they arise, to develop, manage and deliver the project (from identifying user requirements to bringing an idea through to Proof-of-Concept development and delivering the project to end stage deployment).
  • Work with the firm's technology partners and technical experts from within and beyond and manage legal technology vendor accounts.
  • Support product and/or event communications for launches and key product lifecycle updates.

Skills Required:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Law, Legal Studies,Business Law, Legal Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline
  • 1-3 years of work experience in related sector, ideally in a law firm environment or technology services company
  • Customer-focused mindset with excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage documentation accurately and efficiently
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong project management with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Ability to work independently with strong sense of initiative
  • Resourceful and has the ability to translate business needs into technology needs

Experience Desired:

  • Experience in legal technology solutions or operations is highly advantageous
  • Event organisation and training within a professional services environment
  • Knowledge of key steps in an IT project process is highly advantageous
