About the Role
We are hiring a Legal Intern to join our Legal team in Mexico City as part of the Jeeves Emerging Talent Program. This is a hands-on role supporting a small, global legal function at a fintech operating across 20+ countries and preparing for its next stage of growth.
You will work directly with our legal leadership on commercial contracts, corporate governance, regulatory research, and the systems that keep legal work moving. You will also help us build: we expect our legal team to use AI to draft, review, summarize, and automate, and you will be part of that from day one. If you want real ownership instead of document review busywork, this is that internship.

What You'll Do

  • Support the drafting, review, and turnaround of commercial agreements — NDAs, vendor contracts, partner agreements, and customer terms — under the supervision of our legal team
  • Maintain the contract lifecycle: track versions, signature status, renewal dates, and obligations, and keep our contract repository clean and searchable
  • Research regulatory and legal questions across our LATAM markets (Mexico, Brazil, Colombia) and summarize findings into clear, decision-ready memos
  • Assist with corporate governance and entity housekeeping — corporate records, resolutions, filings, and cross-border documentation
  • Partner with Compliance, Finance, and People on requests that cross functions, from data privacy questions to employment documentation
  • Support diligence and documentation workstreams tied to fundraising and audit preparation
  • Build with AI: use Claude and our internal tools to speed up contract review, first-pass drafting, clause comparison, and legal intake — turning repeatable legal work into repeatable workflows

What We're Looking For

  • Current law student (or recent graduate) in Mexico, able to work from our Mexico City office on a hybrid schedule
  • Professional working proficiency in English and Spanish — you will read and draft in both
  • Strong writing: you can take a messy question and return a short, structured, useful answer
  • Detail obsession. In legal work, the small stuff is the work
  • Genuine curiosity about fintech, payments, and cross-border regulation — no prior fintech experience required
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward action. We are a lean team, so you will be trusted early
  • Curiosity about AI and a willingness to use it daily. You do not need to be technical, you need to be willing to learn

Why Join Us

  • Real exposure: you will work directly with legal leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, not through four layers of hierarchy
  • Scope: a global fintech across 20+ countries means the legal questions are genuinely interesting
  • AI-native by default: we are building an AI-first company, and you will learn tools and workflows that compound for the rest of your career
  • Structured mentorship and feedback, plus a clear view of what a full-time path could look like

Equal Opportunity

  • Jeeves is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, age, or veteran status.
