JOB DESCRIPTION – LEGAL MANAGER

Role Purpose

Provide legal advisory services and manage legal risks to ensure the company operates in compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Legal Advisory

  • Provide legal guidance to management on corporate and commercial matters.

    • Support strategic business decisions with legal advice.

Contract Management

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and legal agreements.

    • Ensure contractual compliance across business units.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Monitor regulatory developments and ensure compliance with relevant laws.

    • Advise management on legal implications of regulatory changes.

Litigation Management

  • Manage legal disputes and coordinate with external counsel.

    • Represent the company in legal proceedings where required.

Corporate Governance

  • Support compliance with corporate governance frameworks.

    • Maintain statutory records and legal documentation.

JOB SPECIFICATION

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB).

  • Master of Laws (LLM) or MBA (mandatory).

  • Postgraduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law.

  • Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and member of the Law Society of Kenya.

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in legal practice, preferably in corporate or commercial law.

  • At least 3 years in a managerial or senior legal advisory role.

  • Risk assessment capability.

  • Strong analytical and advisory skills.
