Legal Practice Manager

Key Responsibilities

1 – Department Operations
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the assigned practice area, ensuring legal matters are managed efficiently and in accordance with the Firm's policies, procedures, and operational standards.
2 – Team Leadership
Lead, supervise, and support the Legal Executive team by providing guidance, monitoring performance, and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
3 – Matter & Deadline Management
Monitor the progress of client matters to ensure court deadlines, filing timelines, and internal milestones are met accurately and on time.
4 – Lawyer & Legal Executives Support & Coordination
Work closely with lawyers and Legal Executives to coordinate case progression, prioritise workloads, and ensure legal matters are handled efficiently without unnecessary delays.
5 – Client Relationship Management
Oversee client communications, ensure timely follow-ups, address operational concerns, and maintain a high standard of client service throughout the matter lifecycle.
6 – Resource & Workload Planning
Allocate and manage workloads across the Legal Executive team to optimise productivity, balance resources, and ensure timely completion of assigned matters.
7 – Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with the Firm's policies, court procedures, regulatory requirements, and internal operational standards while promoting best practices and minimising operational risks.
8 – Auditing
Conduct periodic audits of legal matters, case files, documentation, and departmental processes to ensure compliance with the Firm's policies, SOPs, court procedures, regulatory requirements, and quality standards. Identify process gaps, recommend corrective actions, and report audit findings to Management.
9 – Process Improvement
Review existing workflows, identify operational inefficiencies, and recommend or implement improvements to enhance departmental efficiency and service delivery.
10 – Management Reporting
Prepare operational reports, monitor departmental performance, provide regular updates to Management, and support strategic decision-making.
11 – Other Duties
Perform any other duties or responsibilities assigned by Management in support of the Firm's operational and business objectives.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Public Administration, Law, or a related discipline.
  • A Degree in Law will be an advantage.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in operations, office, or practice management. Experience in a law firm or legal services environment will be an advantage.
  • Previous supervisory or team management experience is preferred.
  • Ability to manage and oversee the Legal Executive team, ensuring efficient workflow, timely completion of tasks, and adherence to deadlines.
  • Good understanding of law firm operations, legal procedures, and court processes will be an advantage.
  • Strong organisational, leadership, communication, and client management skills.
  • Ability to prioritise multiple responsibilities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
