Medico Legal Tech is responsible for ensuring accuracy while providing customers with the highest quality product and customer service. The job role is responsible for (but is not limited to) retrieving and processing requests for medical information from government agencies, state agencies, physician offices, healthcare facilities, attorneys, court orders, subpoenas, disability services, workman’s compensation, social security administration, patients and/or their representatives, other requesters and internal organization projects as needed. The Medical Legal Tech assures that guidelines of HIPAA are followed to reduce the hospital’s potential liability in releasing records or protected health information via multiple methods of release such as patient portals, third-party portals, CDs. flash drive, emails, fax, etc.
