Lending Support Specialist

Position Description

LISC seeks a qualified candidate to serve as a Lending Support Specialist within the National Lending Department. The PO will support national and local lending activities by coordinating and managing the lending pipeline, supporting underwriting processes, ensuring data integrity, and contributing to impact measurement. The role requires close collaboration with Lending, Finance, and Legal staff and serves as a coordinator of national LISC lending pipeline process focused on improving efficiencies and tracking closed loan volume projections.

Responsibilities

Lending Process

  • Administer weekly loan Intake agendas and materials.
  • Support the loan intake pipeline by gathering and distributing feedback on early-stage underwriting concerns, impact assessment, and compliance with LISC lending guidelines.
  • Ensure high-quality data in LISC’s loan systems, including data entry and maintenance.
  • Support data analysis on loan commitments and key performance indicators for monthly, semi-annual, annual, and ad hoc reporting to senior management.
  • Analyze key performance indicators related to loan intake, approval, and closing to identify efficiency improvements.
  • Oversee the solicitation, bid review, and engagement of third-party due diligence providers including ordering of appraisals in conjunction with Lending and local office staff.

Administrative Support

  • Support the asset management team in planning and scheduling portfolio monitoring and loan watch meetings, including creating meeting agendas and reviewing and circulating loan reports, circulating follow-up notes and ensuring compliance with all follow-up items, including risk rating changes.
  • Provide back-up support on the ordering and review of borrower credit, tax, and background reports.
  • Provide back-up support to the Credit Officer with regards to coordination of new loan and amendment review, sign-off, and approval, including management of Credit Committee meetings and minutes.

Communications & Training

  • Create marketing and communication materials to share with internal and external audiences with a focus on the impact of lending activity.
  • Provide technical assistance to local program staff on loan policies, procedures, and system usage.
  • Assist in facilitation of LISC’s Lending for Impact workgroup.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or relevant experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional work-related experience in lending and underwriting support.
  • Strong quantitative skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe and Salesforce.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across the LISC network of local and national programs and affiliates.
  • Good organizational abilities, including ability to work independently and to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.

Compensation

LISC provides a competitive salary ($88,537-$110,671) and excellent fringe benefits for this position.
