Level 2 IT Support Engineer – Managed Services
Salary: $65,000 – $80,000 per year
Join a Growing Regional MSP
Tech Barn Managed IT is a locally owned and growing Managed Service Provider based in Shepparton, supporting businesses throughout regional Victoria.
Since 2019, we have grown from our telecommunications roots into a full-service technology provider across Managed IT, Microsoft 365, cybersecurity, cloud, networking and business communications.
We're now looking for a Level 2 IT Support Engineer to join our technical team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, wants more than a traditional service desk role and is looking to continue developing their technical career within a growing MSP.
What You'll Work On
You'll support a broad range of customer environments and technologies, including:
Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Exchange Online, Intune and SharePoint
Microsoft Defender and Huntress cybersecurity solutions
NinjaOne endpoint management, monitoring and patching
Windows 10/11 and Windows Server
Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP
Hyper-V and virtualised environments
UniFi networking, Wi-Fi, switching and firewalls
Backup and disaster recovery
Microsoft 365 migrations and security uplift projects
New customer onboarding and infrastructure deployments
Yeastar and 3CX cloud phone systems
SIP, VoIP, Yealink handsets and business communications
Microsoft Teams Rooms and meeting room technology
You won't need to know every platform on day one. We're looking for strong technical fundamentals, troubleshooting ability and someone who wants to keep learning.
About the Role
As a Level 2 Engineer, you'll take ownership of more complex support issues, assist with technical projects and help proactively improve our customers' IT environments.
Your role will include:
Managing and resolving Level 2 support tickets and escalations
Troubleshooting Microsoft 365, endpoint, server and networking issues
Providing remote and onsite customer support
Configuring Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, MFA and Conditional Access
Responding to endpoint and cybersecurity alerts
Assisting with servers, networking, backups and infrastructure
Deploying computers, Microsoft 365 environments and customer solutions
Supporting and deploying Yeastar and 3CX phone systems
Assisting Level 1 technicians with escalations and technical guidance
Identifying recurring issues, security risks and opportunities to improve customer environments
Maintaining clear technical and ticket documentation
This role sits beyond helpdesk support. We want someone who can investigate problems, take ownership and work towards a complete resolution rather than simply passing issues along.
What We're Looking For
Ideally, you'll have around 3+ years' experience in IT support, managed services or a similar technical environment.
Previous MSP experience will be highly regarded, but we are also open to hearing from strong support technicians who are ready to step into a genuine Level 2 role.
Experience across several of the following would be beneficial:
Microsoft 365 administration
Entra ID / Azure AD
Intune and endpoint management
Windows Server and Active Directory
Networking, VLANs and Wi-Fi
Cybersecurity and endpoint protection
RMM platforms
Backup and disaster recovery
Hyper-V
PowerShell
UniFi
NinjaOne
HaloPSA
Huntress
Yeastar, 3CX or VoIP
You do not need experience with every technology listed.
Just as importantly, we're looking for someone who:
Takes ownership of their work
Enjoys troubleshooting and problem solving
Communicates well with customers and colleagues
Is proactive and organised
Understands the importance of cybersecurity and documentation
Is willing to share knowledge and help less experienced technicians
Wants to continue developing technically
What We Offer
$65,000–$80,000 + superannuation, depending on experience and capability
Full-time employment with a growing locally owned technology business
Access to a company pool vehicle for customer site visits and work-related travel
Microsoft certification exam fees funded by Tech Barn
Exposure to a diverse range of technologies rather than being restricted to one area
Opportunities to work on customer projects and deployments, not just support tickets
Career development towards areas such as:
Level 3 / Senior Engineer
Projects
Cybersecurity
Microsoft 365 and cloud specialisation
Technical leadership
Working Arrangements
