Summary
Oversee compliance operations for a national bank, handling AML/CTF reporting, customer due diligence, and suspicious transaction monitoring while ensuring regulatory adherence.
- Follow up on inquiries received from internal control functions, including Compliance and the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing (AML/CTF) Reporting Department, and prepare the required responses based on the available information.
- Prepare quarterly reports in accordance with the approved template and submit them to the relevant authority following established procedures.
- Review, sign, and record observations on account opening forms within the assigned authority limits, and follow up on any missing information.
- Process high-risk customer cases through the SIRON KYC system or any other approved system in accordance with applicable procedures.
- Follow up on and update FATCA forms that contain U.S. indicia on an annual basis or as otherwise required.
- Immediately notify the direct manager of any legal violations or breaches of procedures that may result in financial penalties or reputational risk.
- Escalate suspicious financial transactions identified through monitoring systems to the Investigations Unit in accordance with approved procedures.
- Prepare and maintain records of alerts, reports, and cases referred to the Investigations Team.
- Prepare quarterly reports for the Reporting Department in accordance with approved templates and requirements.
- Review and assess alerts generated by the transaction monitoring system and determine their validity and relevance to the scenarios configured within the system.
- Communicate with all branches to obtain customer due diligence (CDD) requirements for individuals and corporate customers related to system-generated alerts.
- Conduct field visits when requested by the Head of Reporting, Compliance Officer, or direct manager, in accordance with approved authorities.
- Propose ideas and recommendations to enhance the reporting system and improve suspicious transaction monitoring and detection mechanisms.
- Participate in delivering and supporting periodic training and awareness programs for branch employees to strengthen awareness of Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing (AML/CTF) risks.
- Analyze branch data to identify potential gaps and weaknesses in AML/CTF controls and procedures.
- Document the outcomes of alert reviews, observations, and inquiries in an organized manner that facilitates future reference.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of customer information, alerts, reports, and all related documentation.
Bachelor’s degree in one of the following disciplines
- Law
- Public Administration
- Financial Management
- Accounting
- Finance and Banking Sciences
- Statistics
1–3 years of relevant experience required
