Library Services Program Manager - The Jewish Hospital

Library Program Manager- The Jewish Hospital

This position is responsible for the oversight and execution of medical library operations and services supporting knowledge-based information needs for patient care, graduate medical education, managerial and strategic decision-making, performance improvement, and patient safety.

  • Provides research and reference services to library users.
  • Conducts literature searches in multiple databases (e.g., PubMed, CINAHL).
  • Manages electronic resources, including acquisitions, invoice processing, and budgeting.
  • Performs collection development and selection of library materials and resources.
  • Provides document delivery to library users and manages interlibrary loan via DOCLINE.
  • Maintains library website and catalog. Maintains auxiliary library webpages on the Libguides platform.
  • Provides individual or group instruction in the use of library resources.
  • Works collaboratively and collegially to support the mission, vision, and values of Bon Secours Mercy Health.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree - Business, Healthcare, or related field

  • 3 years experience in a variety of medical and healthcare electronic database searching tools with the ability to conduct comparative online/web database

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Library Science

  • Previous experience as a librarian in a healthcare setting

  • Experience with library related technology and applications, including link resolvers, discovery systems, website development, proxy servers, etc.
