Mr. Electric of Oak Park is seeking a Licensed Electrician who is experienced with local permitting requirements and can efficiently pull electrical permits across Oak Park, River Forest, Chicago, and surrounding municipalities. This is a part time role ideal for a electrician who prefers flexible scheduling, light fieldwork, and administrative permit responsibilities rather than full time service calls.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Pull electrical permits for residential and light commercial projects in Oak Park and nearby jurisdictions
- Coordinate with village/city building departments to ensure timely permit approval
- Maintain accurate records of permit applications, approvals, and inspections
- Communicate with office staff regarding permit status, scheduling, and required documentation
- Occasionally perform site visits for permit related verification or inspection readiness
- Ensure all work complies with NEC, local codes, and municipal requirements
Job Requirements:
- Valid electrical license with the ability to pull permits in Oak Park and surrounding municipalities
- Familiarity with Chicago area permitting processes (Oak Park, River Forest, Berwyn, Cicero, Chicago, etc.)
- Strong understanding of residential electrical code compliance
- Professional communication skills and reliability
- Valid driver’s license
