Medication Administration Oversight

* Working with Company RN, ensure compliance and oversite with applicable medication

administration rules

* In home sites, review medication administration and treatment records and monitor documentation for

accuracy, completeness, and compliance with physician’s orders.

* Assist RN with maintaining accuracy of physicians’ orders.

* Monitor medication storage, labeling, and proper disposal of obsolete or outdated medications.

* Familiarity with Department of Developmental Disabilities rules preferred but not required.

* Assess individuals’ health status and collaborate with healthcare providers.

* Review medication error reports and assist in development of prevention plans.

* May be called upon to coordinate, or assist with, medical appointments.

Training and Support

* Act as a resource for unlicensed direct care staff for clinical or medication questions and relevant

procedures.

* Observe staff displaying medication administration skills and assist with staff training as needed.

* Supervised by an RN
