Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - 2nd

Job Overview:

The overall purpose of the LPN position is to participate in and oversee the assurance of the provision of resident care services consistent with accepted standards of care and as prescribed by the attending physician. The LPN also provides direct resident care and assigns duties to nursing assistants as appropriate.

General Responsibilities:

• Assures resident care according to accepted standards.
• Observes, assesses, and reports resident condition/changes and documents.
• Receives, transcribes, and implements physician’s orders.
• Implements and evaluates care plans.
• Identifies and secures equipment supplies.
• Directs and oversees subordinates.
• Participates in duty assignment.
• Organizes and coordinates subordinates, job tasks, and time allotments.
• Oversees and monitors functions and activities of subordinate staff.
• Monitors infection control compliance.
• Investigates and documents accidents and incidents.
• Encourages safety to prevent accidents.
• Assures equipment safety.
• Demonstrates competency in skills mandated by required education and training.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
