The LVN/ Treatment nurse is responsible for the administration of medications and treatments to residents. The LVN will also provide direct personal care, encourage residents to participate in activities, work with housekeepers and maintenance staff in accordance with the company’s mission, vision, and values.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the administration of medication and treatments prescribed by a resident’s health care provider and complete the medication administration record (MAR)
• Coordinate transmittal of physician orders between prescriber and pharmacy and notify DON of issues regarding medication administration
• Observe resident responses to treatment and medication and be aware of medication interactions and side effects
• Fax or call MD to update on any changes of condition
• Audit all medications to ensure that they are here in a timely manner
• Ensure the organization and tidiness of the medication supply area and associated equipment
• Document and notify the community leadership team of any changes in resident’s physical condition and behaviors in accordance with policies and procedures
• Assist with inventory of diabetic supplies
• Follow reporting guidelines involving resident abuse, neglect, exploitation, and other incidents
• All other duties as assigned
