Licensing Lead

Job Summary:

The Licensing Lead is responsible for supporting the strategic development and management of the company’s apparel licensing portfolio. This position focuses on ensuring brand alignment, developing strong partnerships with external licensees, and assisting in the execution of licensing agreements for apparel products.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and execution of licensing strategies for the apparel segment, ensuring alignment with brand objectives and market trends.
  • Support the Apparel Licensing Manager in identifying new opportunities for brand expansion through licensing.
  • Help execute licensing agreements by collaborating with internal departments (legal, finance, marketing) and external partners.
  • Manage day-to-day communications with existing licensees and external partners to ensure smooth execution of licensing agreements.
  • Ensure licensees adhere to brand guidelines, product standards, and quality expectations.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of licensees, ensuring timely and successful product launches.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with licensees, helping to resolve issues as they arise.
  • Work with the product development and design teams to ensure that licensed apparel products align with brand standards and values.
  • Review and approve product samples, marketing materials, and packaging for consistency with the brand’s image and quality expectations.
  • Ensure that licensed products meet consumer demands and uphold the integrity of the brand.
  • Assist in the negotiation and drafting of licensing agreements, ensuring all terms are clear and enforceable.
  • Monitor key contractual elements such as royalty payments, reporting, and compliance.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of licensing agreements, product launches, and licensee performance.
  • Work with the sales team to track sales performance and help meet revenue goals for licensed apparel products.
  • Monitor royalty reports, ensuring timely payment from licensees and proper documentation of sales data.
  • Track and report on licensing program performance, including key metrics like sales, market share, and profitability.
  • Stay informed on apparel industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitive products.
    Conduct market research to identify potential new licensing opportunities within the apparel industry.
  • Provide regular updates and insights on emerging trends and market conditions that could influence the licensing strategy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, design, legal, and sales to support the smooth execution of the licensing strategy.
  • Ensure internal teams are aligned on licensing goals, timelines, and project requirements.
  • Support the Apparel Licensing Manager in preparing reports on the status of licensing programs, including product performance, financial reports, and licensee progress.
  • Ensure all relevant data is captured and reported accurately, helping to identify areas for improvement or expansion.
  • Other duties assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of licensing processes, including contract negotiation and management.
  • Understanding of brand management and product development in the apparel sector.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with licensing management tools or ERP systems.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Creative problem solver with the ability to think strategically.
  • Results-oriented, with a focus on achieving business growth through effective licensing strategies.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of apparel industry trends and consumer behavior.
