LidsU partners with Barnes & Noble College and hundreds of campus retail locations to create compelling product assortments and shopping experiences that connect students, alumni, and fans with the schools they love.
Operating from Indianapolis, Indiana, LidsU combines the excitement of sports licensing, fashion trends, merchandising, and retail operations to serve a diverse portfolio of collegiate brands. Our team works closely with universities, licensors, vendors, and retail partners to bring innovative products and memorable fan experiences to campus stores nationwide
General Position Summary

LidsU offers a comprehensive internship program across multiple professional disciplines in the fast-paced world of bookstore, retail, sports and fashion.
Students will work at the Lids Corporate Office in Indianapolis, IN under the guidance of mentors while engaging in real career-related activities. Interns will have the opportunity to present their business projects to the Lids Leadership team and other key members of the organization. The program is designed to complement and expand the students' classroom education and offers an opportunity to gain marketable career experience.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist buyers and planners with assortment reviews and product line planning.
- Analyze sales, inventory, and market trends to identify business opportunities.
- Support vendor meetings, line reviews, and product presentations.
- Research emerging trends in licensed apparel, headwear, hardgoods, and fan merchandise.
- Evaluate product performance and recommend opportunities for assortment growth.
- Assist in tracking key merchandising metrics including sales, margin, inventory turn, and sell-through.
- Support pricing, promotional, and seasonal merchandising strategies.
- Build reports and presentations for leadership reviews.
- Collaborate with marketing teams on product launches, campus activations, and special events.
Job Required Knowledge and Skills
· Strong interest in retail merchandising, buying, planning, marketing, sports licensing, or business management.
· Passion for collegiate athletics, university brands, and consumer trends.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
· Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales, inventory, and market data.
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
· Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
· Ability to adapt in a fast-paced retail and consumer products environment.
· Experience with data analysis, merchandising, retail, or campus organizations is preferred but not required.

Work Environment
• Onsite office work environment.
