Life Sharing
Summary
A Lifesharing Provider supports individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities by living with them, sharing daily routines, and assisting with personal care and community activities in a home-based setting.
Shared Wellness is founded on the belief that people living with intellectual and developmental disabilities are not defined by their diagnosis and, with the proper support, are able to achieve their dreams and become valued members of their communities
What Is Lifesharing?
Lifesharing is a shared living arrangement where a person with an intellectual or developmental disability lives in the home of another individual or family. Together, they share daily life, routines, and community experiences in a supportive, home-based setting.
Lifesharing Providers, often called roommates—are matched based on shared interests and support needs and play an important role in helping the individual live a meaningful, connected life in their community.
