Lifeguard - Casual

Job Summary

We are seeking a responsible and attentive Lifeguard to join our team on a casual basis. The ideal candidate will monitor designated zones, prevent hazards, enforce pool rules, and ensure the safety of all patrons. This role requires strong water surveillance skills, emergency response capabilities, and the ability to perform rescues and provide first aid when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor assigned zones to ensure the safety of all swimmers and patrons.
• Prevent hazards by identifying and addressing unsafe conditions promptly.
• Enforce pool rules and regulations consistently and fairly.
• Conduct water surveillance and maintain constant vigilance.
• Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, including performing rescues.
• Provide basic first aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) including AED and oxygen administration as needed.
• Perform light cleaning and maintenance tasks during downtime to maintain a clean and safe environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years of age.
• Current certification in Lifeguarding, or be willing to train in First Aid, CPR, and Basic Life Support (AED/Oxygen) preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to work evenings, some weekends, and early morning shifts as required.
• Strong swimming skills and physical fitness.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods.
• Starguard Cert preferred, Ellis & American Red Cross Accepted. Will train the right candidate.

Work Schedule

This is a casual position with flexible hours. Availability for evening shifts and some weekends required. Shifts include: 6:15a-11:30a; 4:30p-8:30p on weekdays; Saturdays: between 7:15am-7:30pm; Sundays 8:15a-11:45a.
