Lifeguard II

SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the Aquatic Manager or their designee, oversees duties of the swimming pool area and is responsible for ensuring the safety of facility patrons by preventing and responding to first aid situations and emergencies. Maintains clean pool area with daily maintenance.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. Preferred

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• 1 year of prior lifeguard experience

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Oversees a variety of activities in the Aquatic Center.
• Recognizes and responds effectively in emergencies in accordance with facility emergency action plans.
• Provides for the health and safety of all aquatic center patrons, including ensuring that all areas of the pool are free of hazards, and that materials and equipment are in good repair and safe to use. Reports any unsafe conditions or equipment to the Building Supervisor and Aquatic Manager.
• Enforces facility policies, rules and regulations. Communicates regularly with patrons, as appropriate, to ensure they are aware of facility rules, regulations, and programs.
• Participate in staff training sessions.
• Performs daily cleaning and maintenance of the facility.
• Regular and routine onsite attendance
