Lifeguard positions are available at our 3 sites: West Hartford, Bloomfield, Windsor
FUNCTION:
The Lifeguard ensures the safety and well-being of campers and staff during aquatic activities. This role involves monitoring pool areas, enforcing safety rules, resounding to emergencies, and providing first aid or CPR as necessary. Lifeguards maintain a vigilant presence, assist with aquatic programming, and support a positive and inclusive environment that aligns with the camp’s mission. This role is responsible for inspecting equipment, maintaining cleanliness and adhering to all safety and health regulations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Member Services
- Create a warm, welcoming environment for all members, guests, and staff
- Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency
- Provide safe environment for all ages
- Act as representative of the program within the community
- Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services within the boundaries of your certification
Facility Management
- Responsible for the care of the equipment
- Performs various duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility by helping keep the pool deck and recreational areas clear of all debris
- Enforce the Club’s rules and regulations: no running on deck
- Collect water samples in each pool and properly records and informs appropriate staff of any issues
- Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility by helping keep the locker rooms, pool deck and recreational areas clear of all debris
- Keep the lounge chairs clean and neatly arranged
Customer Service
- Provide excellent customer service, both internally and externally
- Resolve customer problems and conflicts
- Responds promptly to customer needs
- Solicit customer feedback to improve services.
Other Job Duties
- Attend all orientations and meetings prior to and throughout the camp season.
