LifeYear Missionary
LifeYear occurs in three main phases over an eighteen to twenty-one-month period.
Phase 1: Before You Go. The goal of Phase 1 is to make sure you are well-connected, well-funded, and well-prepared for the international receiving location that fits you best.
- LifeYear orientation,
- Develop a full partnership team,
- Spiritual & character formation,
- Ministry & cross-cultural skills,
- Receive coaching & mentoring,
- Official send-off by the local church.
Phase 2: On Location. The goal of Phase 2 is to support you in discerning God’s calling for your life as you serve the receiving church well and develop in your character, ministry skills, and cross-cultural knowledge,
- Discover the best fit within the church and campus team.
- Sending church and LifeYear team provide ongoing connection, guidance, and encouragement.
- Quarterly check-ins and equipping times with MAL and LifeYear team.
- L215 courses and other discipleship and training times.
Phase 3: Once You Return. The goal of Phase 3 is that you have successfully re-entered your home church & culture as well as taken significant steps toward pursuing God’s calling for your life.
- Decompress and debrief with the sending church and LifeYear team.
- Next steps forward (LifeYear+, domestic ministry, marketplace ministry).
Additional Responsibilities of the LifeYear Missionary:
- Must complete 100% monthly partnership before leaving for ministry assignment, and maintain a minimum of 80% partnership while on assignment.
- Must send monthly MPD newsletters to partners.
- Must communicate monthly updates to sending church and LifeYear Office.
- Must check-in weekly with Ministry Assignment leader.
- Quarterly evaluations via google meet and online google forms.

Attend Missions Connect call (monthly).
Minimum Qualifying Experience:
- Must be eighteen years old or above.
- Must have a high school diploma.
- Must have been on an international short term or Ten Days Mission trip.
- Must be an active member of a U.S. based Every Nation church.
- Must attend an Every Nation life/small group regularly.
- Must have pastoral recommendation.
- Must be willing to complete a full financial partnership team before leaving for ministry assignment.
