Lighting Designer

  • Design, set up, and operate studio lighting schemes for live news bulletins, talk shows, and special broadcasts, ensuring optimal visual quality and consistency on-air.
  • Collaborate closely with directors, camera operators, and set designers to create lighting setups that enhance the visual storytelling of news programs.
  • Adjust and balance lighting levels in real time during live broadcasts to accommodate presenter movements, camera angles, and changing studio conditions.
  • Program and operate lighting control consoles and systems to manage lighting cues efficiently during live and recorded productions.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot studio lighting equipment including LED panels, spotlights, soft lights, and lighting rigs, ensuring operational readiness at all times.
  • Support the setup and lighting design for special interviews, breaking news segments, and remote studio productions when required.
  • Ensure compliance with broadcast technical standards to deliver consistent lighting quality across multiple cameras and studio environments.
  • Coordinate with the technical and engineering teams for installation, maintenance, and upgrades of lighting systems within the studio.
