Lighting Designer

Summary:

Julian Grey’s client is a specialised lighting design consultancy firm.

Responsibilities

• Develop or assist in developing lighting concepts that align with the architectural direction and client brief.
• Prepare lighting layouts, fixture schedules and design documentation throughout the project stages.
• Research and specify suitable lighting fixtures and control systems based on project requirements and budget.
• Coordinate design and technical matters with clients, architects, consultants, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders.
• Prepare and support tender and construction documentation.
• Attend project meetings, design reviews and site visits.
• Assist with on-site lighting focusing, testing and commissioning when required.
• Manage or support project schedules, design submissions and deliverables, depending on experience.

Requirements

• Diploma in Lighting Design, Architecture, Interior Design or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in lighting design. The position level will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and capabilities.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Adobe Photoshop.
• Familiarity with SketchUp, Revit or lighting calculation software would be advantageous.
• A portfolio showcasing relevant lighting design projects is required.
