Linux Cloud Engineer

Position Purpose:

Responsible for the Linux systems, building and optimizing continuous automation, containerizing workloads, managing baseline database operations, and enhancing the company infrastructure.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Architect, deploy, maintain, and secure high-availability environments in cloud and hybrid configurations.
• Ensure maximum system performance, uptime, and security posture through proactive patching, configuration hardening, and resource optimization.
• Design, build, and maintain enterprise playbooks and roles for configuration management, server provisioning, and continuous deployment.
• Write, test, and refactor advanced scripts to eliminate manual operational overhead and automate recurring systems workflows.
• Manage, build, and optimize Linux container environments to support modern application delivery.
• Install, configure, upgrade, and optimize enterprise applications running on Linux operating systems.
• Provide core database administration, including service management, basic performance tuning, backup validation, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with application teams to design robust deployment environments and system architectures.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Engineering or related discipline
  • Additional experience managing enterprise Linux environments or other related areas may be substituted for Bachelor’s degree on a year per year basis. (Experience requirements may be satisfied by full-time experience or the prorated part-time equivalent.)
• Red hat certification, preferred

Experience

• Three (3) years experience managing enterprise Linux environments
• Writing and maintaining Ansible playbooks
• Bash scripting
• Building, deploying, and troubleshooting containerized workloads (Docker, LXC, and/or container runtimes)
• Supporting production enterprise systems, OS maintenance, kernel/package management, and performance monitoring
