Linux Production Engineer
Division: Group Technology Solutions (GTS)
About the team:
GTS-Linux, a sub-division of Open Systems Tribe, is an Agile team working within Sprints and is responsible for the 3rd-level support of 1650+ Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers running various applications. The team is also responsible for architectural designs for projects using Linux and is accountable for the security and stability of Linux environments.
Responsibilities:
- Provide 2nd-level and 3rd-level support of all Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers within Euroclear
- Investigate and resolve Incidents and Request Tickets
- Participate with server builds, change management, problem management and other essential meetings required for production stability
- Participate in the evolution of Red Hat Enterprise Linux by testing new products and patches
- Participate in On-Call Duty, Software Patching (Releases), Local Disaster Recovery (LDR Swaps), Regional Disaster Recovery (RDR Swaps), and other team activities. Weekend work required
- Participate in our Agile Sprint cycle and adhere to our mandatory ceremonies: Sprint Review, Retrospective, Sprint Planning, and daily scrum meetings
- Travel across entities (Brussels, Krakow, and London) may be required for meetings or work activities
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Red Hat Linux (RHEL) versions 7, 8, and 9.
- Security tools and concepts: SSH, SSL, PKI, etc.
- WEB/E-Business technologies: LDAP, Apache, Websphere, etc.
- Financial services/controlled environment exposure: due to the sensitive nature of our business, Euroclear systems are subject to tight change control procedures - familiarity with and understanding of these controls is a definite plus
- Knowledge of HA software: Pacemaker
- Automation skills: Ansible, Bash, and Python scripting
- Strong TCP/IP Networking knowledge
- Knowledge of Performance Co-Pilot
- Basic knowledge of OpenSCAP
- Basic knowledge of Satellite/Capsule
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with Oracle, Sterling Commerce Connect:Direct, NetIQ Monitoring/Security Manager, PowerBroker, and Quest Authentication Services (QAS).
