Linux System Administrator
Salary: ₱45,000 – ₱55,000 per month
About the role
We are seeking a skilled System Administrator (Linux) to manage, maintain, and optimize our Linux-based infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability, security, performance, and reliability of enterprise Linux servers while supporting business-critical applications. This role requires strong technical expertise in Linux administration, troubleshooting, automation, and infrastructure management.
Key responsibilities
Install, configure, administer, and maintain Linux operating systems (Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Rocky Linux, CentOS, Ubuntu, or similar)
Monitor server performance, system availability, and resource utilization to ensure optimal operation
Perform routine system maintenance, patching, upgrades, and security hardening
Manage user accounts, permissions, file systems, and access controls
Troubleshoot hardware, operating system, network, and application issues
Configure and manage web servers, application servers, and related services
Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
Monitor system logs and proactively resolve performance and security issues
Automate routine administrative tasks using Bash, Python, or other scripting languages
Support virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience administering Linux environments
Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, Rocky Linux, or Ubuntu
Experience with server administration, package management, and performance tuning
Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, SSH, FTP, NFS, and firewalls
Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V
Strong scripting skills using Bash, Python, or similar languages
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams
