Your Role

As a Linux System Engineer, you will contribute to the design, implementation, operation and continuous improvement of Linux-based systems and IT services.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Installing, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting Linux systems
• Supporting and developing configuration management and infrastructure automation
• Operating Kubernetes environments and deploying applications
• Developing, maintaining and operating internal IT services
• Creating scripts, tools, interfaces and lightweight applications
• Using modern technologies, including AI-assisted development, to improve internal tools and processes
• Supporting monitoring, reliability and continuous improvement of the infrastructure
• Designing and implementing technical solutions based on user and organisational requirements
• Working directly with specialist users to understand and solve technical challenges
• Providing hands-on technical support when required

This is a varied position where you can work across the lifecycle of IT solutions — from design and implementation through to deployment, troubleshooting and ongoing operation.

Your Background

We are looking for someone who combines a solid Linux foundation with curiosity and a willingness to keep developing.

Ideally, you bring:

• Education or professional training in Computer Science, IT or a related field
• Solid knowledge of Linux system engineering / administration
• Experience with scripting and/or programming
• Practical experience designing and implementing IT solutions
• Knowledge of configuration management and automation technologies
• Exposure to Kubernetes and/or Ansible would be highly advantageous
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• An independent, structured and proactive working style
• A collaborative and communicative personality
• Motivation to continuously develop your technical knowledge
• Good German and English skills

You don't need to be an expert in every technology listed. A strong Linux foundation, practical problem-solving ability and the motivation to learn are equally important.
