Job Description
A well-established boutique law firm with an active litigation practice in downtown Kansas City is seeking a contract Litigation Attorney to support their caseload as needed. They are a small office with experienced attorneys and staff that handles commercial litigation matters for a clientele largely compromised of entrepreneurs and small and mid-sized businesses. They do most of their work on the plaintiff’s side on both a contingent-fee and hourly basis.
To be successful in this role, you must be a strong writer, researcher and communicator, and able to interact confidently and professionally with clients and other attorneys. You must be licensed to practice in either Kansas or Missouri.
Although this is a remote position, some in-office work may be required so you must be located within an easy driving distance of downtown Kansas City, Missouri.
Your primary duties will be to:
- Draft legal filings
- Draft legal memoranda
- Draft and respond to written discovery
- Interact with and gather information from clients and potential clients
- Review documents
Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience in litigation although the ideal candidate is someone with more experience who has decided to step away from full-time legal work.
