Job Description
We are urgently seeking a compassionate, experienced, and reliable Live-In Caregiver to provide around-the-clock support and assistance to Betty Jacobs in her home in Canton, MA. The client is currently receiving hospice-related care and requires comprehensive assistance with daily living activities, companionship, and ongoing comfort and supervision.
The ideal caregiver should be comfortable supporting a client who is experiencing weakness, fatigue, reduced appetite, and declining energy levels. The caregiver must be attentive, patient, and able to provide compassionate care while maintaining the client's dignity, comfort, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Assist with all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene.
- Provide companionship, emotional support, and reassurance.
- Assist with mobility, positioning, and transfers as appropriate.
- Monitor the client's general comfort and report changes in condition to the family and hospice care team.
- Provide appropriate assistance and supervision related to the client's oxygen use, following established medical instructions.
- Offer meal and hydration assistance as tolerated, respecting the client's appetite and care plan.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable home environment.
- Coordinate with family members and the hospice care team as needed.
- Follow hospice care instructions and respect the client's comfort-focused care preferences.
Client Information

Oxygen Support: Client is on oxygen (O2).

Medical/Care Status: MOLST/Hospice status.

Current Condition: Weakness, fatigue, reduced appetite, and not eating.

Care Needs: Assistance with all ADLs and continuous companionship.

Hospice Provider: Amedisys / Beacon Hospice.
Requirements
- Previous experience in live-in caregiving, hospice, or personal care preferred.
- Must speak and understand English.
- Compassionate, patient, dependable, and attentive.
- Comfortable assisting clients with extensive daily care needs.
- Experience supporting clients using supplemental oxygen preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with family members and the hospice team.
Important: This is an urgent live-in caregiving requirement. Caregiver availability for the live-in arrangement must be confirmed, including sleeping arrangements, breaks, and overnight coverage.
