Live/TV / Social Media Presenter

Discussion

Role Overview
Univacity Ltd is looking for a charismatic, camera-ready presenter to be the face and voice of our brand — hosting live broadcasts, leading on-screen segments, and connecting with our audience in real time across TV-style productions and social media platforms. This role suits someone equally comfortable reading from a script, thinking on their feet during unscripted live moments, and building genuine rapport with viewers.

Department: Marketing & Communications
Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Head of Growth
Location: Univacity Ltd HQ / Studio-Based

Key Responsibilities

  • Host and present live broadcasts, webinars, and TV-style segments, both scripted and unscripted.
  • Lead live sessions across social platforms (Instagram Live, TikTok Live, YouTube Live, Facebook Live), engaging audiences in real time.
  • Conduct on-camera interviews with guests, students, partners, and stakeholders with confidence and professionalism.
  • Deliver presenter-led video content including announcements, product walkthroughs, explainer segments, and event coverage.
  • Collaborate with the production and content teams on run-of-show scripts, segment structure, and talking points.
  • Read and deliver scripted content naturally and fluently, including from teleprompters or autocue where required.
  • Think and respond quickly during live, unscripted moments — handling technical hiccups, audience questions, and unexpected turns with composure.
  • Represent Univacity at events, campus visits, fairs, and partner functions as an on-camera host or MC.
  • Work closely with the video and editing team on pre-production planning and post-production feedback.
  • Maintain a consistent on-screen persona aligned with Univacity's brand voice and values.

Requirements

Presenting & Broadcast Requirements

  • Demonstrable on-camera presence with natural charisma, clear diction, and confident body language.
  • Strong public speaking and verbal communication skills, with the ability to sustain energy over long live sessions.
  • Comfort with both scripted delivery and improvisation — able to recover from mistakes and keep a broadcast flowing.
  • Experience operating in live broadcast or live-streaming environments, including familiarity with autocue, in-ear cues, or floor direction.
  • Ability to interview guests naturally, ask engaging follow-up questions, and keep conversations on track and on time.
  • Versatility across tone and format — equally credible hosting a formal panel discussion and a casual, fast-paced social media live.

Note: This role is fully on-camera and audience-facing. Strong screen presence, vocal clarity, and the ability to perform consistently under live conditions are non-negotiable requirements.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience presenting, hosting, or anchoring for TV, radio, live streams, or large-scale events.
  • A strong demonstration reel or showreel of past presenting/hosting work (links required when applying).
  • Excellent command of spoken English with clear articulation; additional language fluency is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle live, unscripted broadcast situations professionally.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to make guests and audiences feel comfortable on camera.
  • Degree or diploma in Broadcasting, Media Studies, Communications, Theatre Arts, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Skills & Attributes

  • Prior experience as a TV anchor, radio host, or MC for live events.
  • Familiarity with studio equipment, microphones, and basic broadcast technology.
  • Experience presenting for a brand, school, or institution in the education sector.
  • Comfort building a personal following or brand alongside the company's identity.
  • Basic understanding of video production and editing workflows.
  • Multilingual ability, particularly in widely spoken Nigerian languages.
  • Experience moderating panels, debates, or Q&A sessions.
  • A genuine interest in education, study-abroad, or youth-focused content.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience, reviewed annually.
  • On-screen visibility — a platform to build a personal brand as the face of a growing company.
  • Studio and broadcast equipment access with production support.
  • Media training, coaching opportunities, and clear progression pathways.
  • Exposure at industry events, campus visits, and partner functions.
  • A supportive, energetic team culture that values creativity and professionalism.
