Overview
We are seeking an LNG Sales & Marketing Specialist to join the Marketing & Supply Planning Division (MSPD) within the Gas Venture Department.
SBDD is responsible for sourcing and developing international gas value chain (upstream, liquefaction, marketing, regasification) investment opportunities. The division is also responsible for coordinating the execution of these investment opportunities and managing investments post transaction, with an objective of creating a viable, material integrated global gas business by 2035.
Your primary role is to work as the incumbent liaison with the commercial business development team who develop the supply side of the LNG business and lead the contract negotiation and management activities for the LNG sourcing contracts. In addition, you will liaise with the commercial team, the Sales & Marketing professionals, and coordinate with Aramco’s LNG trading desk to optimize the LNG portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify potential buyers through personal client network, Saudi Aramco client network, or through market intelligence reports.
- Engage with potential clients to assess potential appetite for LNG purchases.
- Assess potential buyers’ counterparty risk such as due diligence on operations, financials, management, history, capital structure, creditworthiness, governance, and country risk.
- Negotiate terms of sales contracts, volumes, pricing, timeframe, flexibility clauses, etc.
- Liaise with support departments to ensure sales contract is in compliance with local and global regulatory regimes such as taxation, transport regulations, etc., and also liaise with Head of LNG Trading on near-final sales contract to ensure alignment on contract terms and implications on Aramco portfolio.
- Sign sales contracts and follow up on administrative execution.
- Monitor sales contract profitability, analyze deltas in profitability and monitor overall portfolio risk, such as open positions per index, credit exposure, etc.
- Define required supply contracts to remain within acceptable range of exposure per index and also define supply requirements to reach Saudi Aramco’s ambitions in maintaining healthy supply-sales balance per index.
- Identify potential supply sources and reach out to relevant counterparties.
- Assess supply deals, volumes, durations, pricing, flexibility, counterparty risk, chartering, and logistics.
- Conduct re-negotiations of contracts with current suppliers.
- Manage all sales contracts (from Aramco assets and from third parties).
- Liaise with Strategy and Business Development to develop full understanding of long-term supply of LNG coming from Saudi Aramco assets, and also liaise with suppliers to schedule deliveries.
- Develop full picture of current and future LNG sales and delivery obligations.
- Ensure engaged participation of Origination in Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) task force led by Business Development.
- Oversee Origination’s participation in assessment of the economic viability of investment opportunities in assets driven by Business Development.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Business Administration or Engineering. An advanced degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 15 years’ experience, including 10 years of experience in SPA LNG sales. You will also have a trackable record of closing sales agreements, preferably in a major petrochemical or energy industry corporation.
- Ability to quickly establish credibility in the position and to effectively interact with all levels of management, including senior leadership.
- Ability to establish and maintain networks, both within and across company organizations.
- Capability to work effectively within a matrix organization and with multi-disciplinary teams.
