LNG TRADER
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage physical LNG trading activities, risk management and optimization across multiple commodities exchanges and time zones (mainly European and Asia time zones)
- Communicate with the Parent Company (The Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc.) and accommodate its needs to keep its LNG procurement aligned with the electricity and gas demand fluctuation
- Build and accelerate portfolios with the objective of optimizing returns and meeting targets for gross margin and optimizing the company's LNG portfolio
- Conduct research, analyze research information and trading deals, generate trade ideas and execute trading deals on spot and term basis
- Maintain and verify accurate trade entries, monitor profit and loss and prepare market reports
- Develop and execute successful negotiation strategies for closing short and long-term profitable LNG deals for the organization
- Prepare and present contractual information and technical specifications in contracts
- Manage and engage partners to execute and resolve trade issues regarding terms, conditions and technical specifications of contracts
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in any field
- At least 3 years’ experience in professional LNG trading with specific knowledge and exposure in the full LNG trading cycle and value chain
- Strong knowledge of the LNG market, derivative, hedging, and portfolio optimization
- Good track records in trading of Physical LNG and Derivatives
- Entrepreneurial, profit focused individual and able to perform under intense pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Resourceful in networking, excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
- Confident, resilient and able to nurture a positive working environment under challenging circumstances
- High proficiency in English (both written and spoken) is a MUST
- Possess strong integrity and immaculate work ethics
- Understanding of the electricity market in Japan and LNG inventory operation by Japanese utility companies
