Summary
Loads, inspects, and secures industrial pipe and supply materials for shipping using forklifts and shrink-wrap, ensuring accuracy and safety in a warehouse setting.
Reports to: Outbound Manager
Position Summary
Conducts day-to-day activities pertaining to burning(shrink-wrap), loading product for the shipping department, burning loading material correctly and in efficient manner. Effectively delegate’s workload to department personnel. All while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Essential Responsibilities
In addition to the Responsibilities of “Order Burner/Loader”:

Ensure designated equipment is in proper working condition (forklifts, pickers, crane, hand tools, etc.).

Effectively communicates with department supervisors.

Visually inspects all material to identify any non-conformances.
-
Ensure all material is protected from potential damage that could occur during transit.
-
Packages material securely.
-
Utilizes Pick Ticket information to accurately verify and record information on shrink-wrapped pallets.
-
Properly matches shipments to the loading forms ensuring vehicles are loaded with the correct material.

Photographs loaded product (photo verification).
-
Properly fills out information required on pick ticket and accompanying forms.

Attends safety meetings to identify departmental issues and discuss ways to correct them.

Identifies areas of improvement while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Material Verification and Documentation:

Visual Inspection.

Markings on the shipment matches what is written on the Pick Ticket.

Identify non-conformances and notify department leads and shipping supervisor.

Segregate non-conforming product.

Fully understands and maintains all expectations listed in the procedures and Work Instructions.

Follow Quality Policy and Department Processes.

Understands the process of identifying and segregating non-conforming product form good material.

Safety:

Utilize PPE as required.
-
Maintain the daily checklist on the picker/forklift.
-
Attend daily safety meetings.
-
Ongoing responsibility of creating and implementing a safe work environment.

Maintain clear aisle ways and organize racks and dock space.
-
Always aware of potential hazards in surrounding area.
Qualifications
-
Speak and read English. Bilingual Spanish preferred.

1+ years PVF industry experience.
-
Ability to read and understand industry specifications, charts, and tables
-
High school diploma or GED.
-
Basic computer skills. Experience with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred.

Ability to drive forklift and secure certification.
-
Must have average reading, writing, and mathematical skills.

Capable of lifting 50 lbs. with back support.

Able to stand and operate a variety of equipment as assigned.

Takes initiative and can work independently.
-
Requires a high level of attention to detail.

Able to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
