Shore United Bank is hiring a full-time Loan Documentation Specialist to join our team. The Loan Documentation Specialist is responsible for supporting the Bank’s lending operations by preparing, reviewing, and coordinating loan documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable regulations, credit approvals, and internal policies. This role serves as a key operational partner within the loan origination and closing process, helping facilitate the timely and efficient delivery of lending solutions to customers. Working closely with lenders, credit personnel, attorneys, title companies, and other internal and external stakeholders, the position helps ensure that loan transactions are properly documented, secured, and prepared for closing. Through effective coordination, documentation oversight, and regulatory adherence, the role contributes to sound risk management, operational efficiency, and the overall quality of the Bank’s loan portfolio.

What You'll Do:

A detailed list of job duties includes (but is not limited to):

  • Performs various duties relative to preparing loan documentation within the loan platform system and reviewing loan closing packages for compliance, accuracy and completeness
  • Orders appraisals/evaluations and flood hazard determinations as required and tracks payments from the borrowers for the same.
  • Accurately prepares all loan documents in accordance with the final approved credit facility.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of the principles of loan documentation and the perfection of security interests. Orders and reviews title and lien searches to ensure adherence to approved credit facility requirements.
  • Follows up with appropriate internal and external customers as necessary to obtain clarification and /or any missing/incomplete data within the timeframes established.
  • Reviews loan documents prior to closing for accuracy, completeness and compliance with laws, regulations, and bank policy.
  • Schedules loan closings to meet and attempt to exceed our customer’s expectations.
  • Files, maintains various logs, and other administrative duties as assigned.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of commercial loan structures, including loan documentation requirements and real and personal property liens. Applies knowledge of UCC requirements, real estate laws, banking regulations, and compliance standards to support loan documentation activities. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the features and benefits of the Bank's commercial products and services.
  • Identifies and responds to opportunities to communicate affiliates products and services to promote the image of the affiliate and the promote Shore Bancshares’ community of companies’ products and services to potential customers and referring those customers to the proper personnel.
  • Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
  • Communicates with management and staff personnel in order to integrate goals and activities.
  • Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from other bank personnel, customers, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.
  • Maintains appropriate records and provides assigned reports.
  • Demonstrates compliance awareness by completing all required regulatory and compliance training (e.g., BSA, CRA, ECOA) on or before deadlines, and actively supporting all policies, procedures, and practices that promote risk management, safety, and regulatory adherence.

Location: This position can work from one of three locations:

  • Shore Bancshares Headquarters - 28969 Information Ln, Easton, MD 21601
  • Westgate Building - 200 Westgate Circle, Suite 200, Annapolis, MD 21401
  • 34th Street Loan Production Office - 3409 Coastal Highway, Ocean City, MD 21842

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • Full-time.
  • Non-exempt.
  • Days of Work: Monday-Friday.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED equivalent.
  • 1 year experience successfully providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of loan structures is preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge of lending process and policies, state and federal banking laws, and real estate and settlement regulations is preferred, but not required.

Compensation:

  • The pay range for this position is $23.00 to $30.00 hourly.
  • Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted hiring range based on factors such as relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, licensure requirements and/or skill level, and will be finalized at the time of offer.
