Loan Officer

Role Overview The Loan Officer position is situated within the financial services department, accountable for facilitating loan origination and providing comprehensive support to clients in rural finance. The role entails assessing the creditworthiness of individual borrowers as well as groups, promoting loan products, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Duties and Responsibilities - Evaluate and process loan applications from individuals and joint liability groups. - Conduct financial assessments to determine the eligibility of applicants for various loan products. - Provide guidance to potential borrowers regarding loan terms, conditions, and repayment options. - Promote microfinance products effectively among target demographics, particularly in rural areas. - Collaborate with group sales teams to develop strategies that enhance loan uptake among joint liability groups. - Maintain accurate records of all transactions, client interactions, and loan approvals in accordance with regulatory standards. - Monitor repayment schedules and assist clients in managing their loans effectively to ensure timely payments. - Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and referrals. Required Qualifications - A degree in finance, business administration, or a related field is preferred. - Experience in the field of microfinance or rural finance is advantageous. - Familiarity with joint liability group lending models is essential.
