Loan Processor I
Role:
To assist customers with their loan applications; process and make loan disbursements.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Reviews residential loan application files to verify that application data is complete and meets bank standards, including type and amount of mortgage, borrower assets, liabilities, and length of employment; recommends that loans not meeting standards be denied.
- Calls or writes credit bureau and employer to verify accuracy of information.
- Calls specified companies to obtain property abstract, survey, and appraisal; informs supervisor of discrepancies in title or survey.
- Types loan application forms; submits mortgage loan application files for underwriting approval.
- Prepares and mails approval and denial letters to applicants.
- Records data on status of loans, including number of new applications and loans approved, canceled, or denied.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements:
1. To produce loan documents, reports, and new accounts in a timely fashion, with zero errors.
2. To prepare file for underwriting.
3. Organize and complete customer loan files.
4. To cross sell bank products and services.
5. To maintain a professional work environment and businesslike appearance.
6. To maintain working knowledge of all mortgage products and rates, from the industry overall.
7. To maintain the confidentiality of all information as directed in banking procedures.
8. Maintain appropriate attendance and punctuality.
9. To comply with all state and federal regulations that are applicable to their specific job duties.
10. To complete all assigned training within the allotted time frame.
11. Each position within the Company shares in the cross-selling of the Company's products and services.
