Loan Quality Control Specialist

The Lending Quality Control Specialist is part of the Lending and Operations Team and is responsible for conducting post-closing quality control reviews of loan files originated by the credit union. This role ensures that each file is reviewed for accuracy, completeness, regulatory compliance, and adherence to written policies and procedures. If a loan file does not meet established quality control standards, the Specialist will work directly with lending staff to identify and resolve the issue and will escalate matters to management when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a Quality Control (QC) database of originated and non-originated loan files (Consumer and Mortgage)
- Perform quality control audits on each loan file to verify that applicable regulations, internal policies, and established procedures have been followed
- Communicate regularly with lending staff and management, by phone and email, to follow up on missing files, quality control issues, insurance concerns, lien recording matters, and related documentation; ensure all identified issues are tracked through resolution
- Prepare and review reports (regularly scheduled and as assigned)
- Assist in accurately archiving lending files electronically
- Assist with loan compliance monitoring activities to help ensure lending practices, file documentation, and related processes align with credit union policies, established procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements
- Assist with tracking lien perfection and mortgage filing requirements, including titles, uniform commercial code (UCC) filings, and mortgages, ensuring required documentation is completed, recorded, and followed up on in a timely manner
