Loan Servicing Assistant

This position is located in the Small Business Administration, Office of Capital Access in Birmingham, AL, Herndon, VA, El Paso, TX, Citrus Heights, CA, Fresno, CA and Santa Ana, CA. The incumbent(s) assist customers from the time the proceeds of a disaster loan are disbursed until the loan is paid off. Incumbent serves as a Loan Servicing Assistant and is responsible for assisting Loan Specialists in servicing or liquidating a full range of disaster business and home loans.

As a/an Loan Servicing Assistant at theGS- 1101-7, some of your typical work assignments may include: Providing support services for the purchasing, servicing, and liquidation of commercial loans. Identifies loan documents and completes purchase packages. Applying regulations for government loan programs. Determine eligibility of loan servicing actions by utilizing different types and variety of rules and regulations. Apply knowledge in making loan servicing actions. Responds to oral requests from banks and borrowers and other financial institutions concerning factual information on payments on loans, interest rates, loan balances, terms and conditions and other credit information. Preparing written reports summarizing analysis of problem loan situations. Responds to full range of inquiries related to loan servicing.
