Job Summary
We are seeking a results-driven and client-centric Account Officer to join our Loan team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, retaining, and expanding a portfolio of key client accounts while actively identifying and acquiring new business opportunities. You will prepare and manage loan applications and portfolios, conduct detailed financial and credit analysis, and serve as the liaison between the Singapore branch and HQ in Taiwan ensuring risk compliance and effective communication across regulatory and business functions. You will be responsible for end-to-end deal execution—from origination, credit structuring to portfolio monitoring and driving sustained revenue growth optimization.
Responsibilities
- Proactively acquire new high-value client accounts through targeted prospecting, referrals and strategic networking,
- Manage and deepen existing client relationship to maximize customer retention, satisfaction and lifetime value
- Prepare and process new loan applications by conducting due diligence and financial analysis to support approval decisions by HQ in Taiwan and the Board of Directors
- Maintain and review the existing loan portfolio, including loan disbursement, post-loan management, and customer relationship management to ensure portfolio quality and client satisfaction
- Prepare periodic and ad-hoc reports such as Customer Operation Status, Credit Risk, Credit Industry, and Investigation Reports with detailed statistical and qualitative analysis for submission to HQ in Taiwan, MAS, and Taiwan regulatory authorities
- Translate reports and official documents from English to Traditional Chinese to facilitate clear communication with HQ
- Act as the primary liaison between the Singapore Branch office and HQ in Taiwan to coordinate operations and compliance
- Draft and review branch office policies and Standard Operating Procedures related to lending policies and interest rate pricing to ensure regulatory compliance and operational efficiency
- Prepare and transmit official documents including interbank authorized signatory specimens, subsidiary board meeting minutes, and announcements from financial authorities to maintain accurate records and compliance
- Manage day-to-day operations by visiting clients, proposing credit structures for loan applications, preparing Letters of Credit (LOC), and following up on loan cases to support business growth and risk management
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Financial Analysis, Treasury Management, or related discipline
- Open to applicants who are recent graduates from related university or graduate programs with no experience; 2 years of experience in the banking industry with proven expertise in International Banking, Foreign Exchange, Loan, and Corporate Banking Departments is a plus.
- Experience in financial marketing, international trade, and banking to support business development
- Strong business development skills with a customer-oriented and sales-driven approach to achieve sales targets
- Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese to handle East Asia market communications, including email correspondence and report preparation in both English and Traditional Chinese
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to produce professional reports and presentations
- Competent in engaging and managing internal and external clients to build effective working relationships
- Demonstrates teamwork, proactivity, resourcefulness, and analytical thinking to contribute to team success and problem-solving
