(Location : Korea) Contract Manager
NewResponsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, ensuring effective communication, timely issue resolution, contract fulfillment, and strong long-term customer relationships.
- Manage the end-to-end execution of service contracts and Long-Term Service Agreements (LTSA) in accordance with contractual scope, timelines, service levels, commercial terms, and customer expectations.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor contract-related activities, including scheduled maintenance, field service, spare parts supply, technical support, resource allocation, and logistics.
- Develop and maintain contract execution plans using Microsoft Project, including project schedules, milestones, dependencies, resource requirements, deadlines, and deliverable tracking.
- Regularly monitor and update project schedules to identify delays, critical activities, resource constraints, and potential risks, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Ensure all contract activities and deliverables comply with contractual commitments, technical specifications, quality standards, QHSE requirements, and internal procedures.
- Take commercial responsibility for assigned contracts by monitoring revenue, costs, margins, profitability, invoicing, cash flow, and overall financial performance.
- Ensure timely and accurate invoicing by reviewing completed services, spare parts deliveries, contractual milestones, supporting documents, and billing requirements.
- Monitor contract performance through KPIs, service levels, maintenance schedules, operational results, customer feedback, and financial indicators, and provide regular reports to customers and management.
- Proactively identify and manage contractual, technical, operational, financial, and commercial risks, including claims, warranties, delays, penalties, and contractual deviations.
- Manage scope changes, additional work, contract variations, customer requests, and commercial claims, ensuring that all changes are properly evaluated, documented, approved, priced, and invoiced.
- Coordinate closely with Sales, Field Service, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Quality, and technical teams, acting as the central coordination point between customers and internal or external stakeholders.
- Support the full contract lifecycle, including proposal development, quotation preparation, contract negotiation, execution, renewal, extension, and commercial discussions.
- Identify opportunities for contract expansion and additional business through spare parts, field service, maintenance programs, retrofit solutions, technical upgrades, training, and other value-added services.
- Drive continuous improvement by utilizing contract performance data, customer feedback, service history, and lessons learned to improve service quality, operational efficiency, processes, customer satisfaction, and business outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Logistics, or a related technical or commercial field.
- 7–10 years of relevant experience in the merchant marine industry, including service operations, business development, spare parts, field service, and customer support.
- Proven ability to use Microsoft Project for project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, milestone tracking, progress monitoring, and reporting.
- Working experience with SAP S/4HANA and CRM systems, such as ShareCRM.
- Proven experience in two-stroke engine service business models, Long-Term Service Agreement (LTSA) management, customer engagement, and global cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong negotiation skills, particularly in spare parts and field service-related business.
- Good understanding of global logistics, import/export processes, and international business operations.
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience managing multiple projects, priorities, deadlines, and cross-functional activities in a structured manner.
- Strong technical and commercial understanding, with the ability to review and interpret technical and commercial specifications in English.
- Practical experience in spare parts and field service business, including commercial negotiation with customers.
- Solid knowledge of logistics, with hands-on experience in global import and export operations.
- Experience coordinating and managing technical, commercial, logistics, and customer-related issues with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Proactive mindset with flexibility and readiness to adapt to changing priorities and business requirements.
- Fluency in both English and Korean, in written and spoken communication.
