Locum Phlebotomist

Job Responsibilities

• Perform venepuncture and blood collection for patients in a safe and professional manner.
• Ensure proper patient identification, specimen labelling and handling.
• Prepare and process blood specimens for laboratory collection.
• Maintain proper infection control, hygiene and safety standards.
• Ensure phlebotomy equipment and supplies are adequately stocked.
• Provide a comfortable and positive experience for patients during blood collection.
• Assist with other clinical duties as required.

Job Requirements

• Relevant certification or training in phlebotomy.
• Prior experience in blood collection, preferably in a clinic or healthcare setting.
• Proficient in venepuncture with the ability to perform blood collection independently.
• Familiar with infection control procedures and specimen handling requirements.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, meticulous and service-oriented
• Able to work on an ad-hoc basis, including weekdays and/or weekends.
