The position

• The successful candidate will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the lodge.
  
• The Lodge Manager will ensure that consistently high standards of service, hospitality and guest satisfaction are maintained.
  
• The role will involve leading, managing and developing the lodge team to create a professional, motivated and positive working environment.
  
• The successful candidate will oversee all lodge departments and ensure effective communication between operational teams.
  
• The position will require strong financial and administrative oversight, including budgeting, cost control and stock management.
  
• The Lodge Manager will be responsible for maintaining excellent relationships with guests and ensuring their stay exceeds expectations.
  
• The successful candidate will handle guest feedback and resolve any operational or service-related matters professionally and efficiently.
  
• The role will involve coordinating lodge activities and ensuring seamless daily operations.
  
• The successful candidate will work closely with senior management to achieve operational, financial and service objectives.
  
• The position requires a hands-on management approach and the ability to lead by example.
  
• The Lodge Manager will ensure that company policies, health and safety standards and operational procedures are consistently followed.
  

Candidate requirements

• Proven experience in a Lodge Manager, General Manager, Operations Manager or similar senior hospitality position.
  
• Previous experience within a luxury safari lodge, game reserve or high-end hospitality environment is essential.
  
• Strong leadership, people management and team development skills.
  
• Excellent guest relations and communication abilities.
  
• Strong operational and organizational skills.
  
• A solid understanding of lodge financial management, budgeting and cost control.
  
• Ability to manage multiple departments and priorities effectively.
  
• Strong problem-solving skills with a calm and professional approach.
  
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
  
• A hands-on management style with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
  
• Strong understanding of luxury hospitality and guest experience.
  
• Professional presentation and excellent interpersonal skills.
  
• Flexibility to work within the requirements of a remote safari lodge environment.
  
• A genuine passion for hospitality, conservation and the safari industry would be highly advantageous.
