Logistics Analyst WRAB
Summary
The Logistics Analyst oversees demand planning, inventory control, and hazardous material tracking for the Macon, GA warehouse, using EESOH‑MIS, Tailwind inventory tools and Excel to analyze data, forecast demand, and ensure regulatory compliance.
Frequently coordinates with technical or quality personnel to ensure vendor compliance with the item description. Monitors and reports daily productivity and program metrics. Requires knowledge of HM product lines, procurement specifications, sources of supply and modes of transportation used for shipments to locations in the Continental United States (CONUS). Must posses a minimum of five (5) years’ experience working in a HM Center, HM Pharmacy, or equivalent operation and three (3) years’ experience using Government supply systems, and EESOH-MIS equivalent HM Tracking System.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Demand Planning and forecasting to maintain proper inventory levels at Macon, GA warehouse to support customer demands and minimize waste for Chemico.
- Provide ongoing analyses to maintain Inventory Management Plan and make necessary adjustments as demand changes (increase/decrease)
- Confer with logistics management team to determine ways to optimize service levels, maintain supply-chain efficiency, or minimize cost.
- Maintain exceptional working knowledge of EESOH-MIS and Tailwind Inventory Management Tool including but not limited to computer navigation and applicable work-related applications, report generation e.g. inventory management, status of orders, materials in storage.
- Track HM disposition from cradle to grave.
- Develop and maintain models for logistics effectiveness, such as cost estimating or demand forecasting.
- Monitor inventory transactions at warehouse facilities to assess receiving, storage, shipping, and inventory integrity.
- Calculate metrics, such as on-time delivery rates, order fulfillment rates, and inventory turns.
- Assist in the development and implementation of internal procedures and policies, and internal training.
- Review new and current local, state and Federal regulations related to chemical and waste management across the site.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
- Perform inspections to ensure compliance with all Federal and local regulations.
Primary Responsibilities:

Ensure full understanding of assigned tasks and that all tasks are covered and team is cross trained to cover in absence. |
|
Coach and encourage Supply Technician (ST) engagement with customer groups in the event of unusual order (excessive amount, new product requirement, etc.). |
|
Regular analysis of ordering patterns and quantities with comparison to Inventory Management Plan (IMP) demand and recommend (with back-up data) changes to the IMP. |
|
Immediate response to customers with material concerns with escalation to 3PL Program Manager. |
|
Schedule regular/recurring meeting with Valiant and Government Customer groups/Shops to anticipate new or surge requirements. |
|
Ensure all Sole Source documentation is documented and communicated to the Procurement Team. |
|
Immediate customer contact (and site visit) when Procurement Team requests assistance in proper product identification. Response must be concise and correct. |
|
Identify reoccurring problematic items and work with Valiant and Government Customer Technical and Quality personnel to identify potential alternate product and recommend products if known. |
|
Monthly ride along with driver to increase customer visibility, get immediate feedback from receiving personnel, and ensure compliance with delivery practices. |
|
Review current stocking levels and ensure re-stocking PO's are initiated and entered into Procurement System. |
|
Escalate out of stock and insufficient stock materials to 3PL Program manager and Lead Buyer. |
|
Weekly warehouse walk throughs with warehouse supervisor and quality manager to identify any issues with stock. |
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Ability to analyze large data sets and identify trends
- Initial and recurring HAZWOPER training
- HAZCOM Training
- RCRA
- Storage & Handling of HM
- Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Company Internal Training Requirements, e.g. Indoctrination, SOPs, and On-the-job Task Training (OJT)
- Other training as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a Citizen of the United States.
- Must be able to pass Government Background Check for Common Access Card
- Must always maintain a valid state driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Must pass criminal and financial background check prior to hire and must be able to pass and sustain the DLA PSI background check criteria during the entire duration of their employment.
- Minimum of five years’ experience working in a HM Center, HM Pharmacy, or equivalent operation.
- Minimum of five years of experience in the field of CMS and supply chain management.
- Three years’ experience using a HM tracking system equivalent to EESOH-MIS.
- Must possess exceptional leadership, interpersonal, organization and communication skills.
- Must present a neat and professional appearance IAW company policy and consistent with the workplace environment.
- Requires knowledge of HM/HW processes, packaging, manifesting, and collection/temporary storage procedures.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations & requirements related to chemical management.
- RCRA, CVI and DOT certifications or the ability to obtain
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and/or Chemistry/Biology/Biochemistry preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of previous experience in chemical management.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in contract construction, negotiation, and application.
Work Environment:
Ability to handle multiple priorities and demands in a fast paced environment. This job operates in a manufacturing environment. This role requires presence on the manufacturing floor and a significant amount of walking on concrete surfaces. This role also routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets. Ability to work in team fostered environment. Ability to work in multi-tasked environment. Strong personality and focus in fast-paced and demanding environments. Ability to adapt to change quickly and multi-task.
