Summary
Oversee all logistics operations for a manufacturing and construction company, including supplier negotiations, fleet management, and supply chain optimization.
- The role holder will manage all Logistics activities for the organization, including logistics planning, supplier negotiation, documentation.
- Ensures communication is effectively done to production, purchase team and stores to promote a healthy supply chain of the company.
- Overseeing and managing logistics operations.
- Ensure timely execution of organizing and managing transportation and fleet.
- Keep track of cost, productivity, data accuracy and time line for department deliverables.
- Analysing and optimising logistical procedures.
- Negotiate the price and contract with the supplier for the best rate for material.
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors.
- Select prospective vendors and negotiate a contract.
- Evaluate vendors based on quality, time line, price, and process.
- Schedule deliveries and ensure timely pickup.
- Monitoring shipments, costs, time line, and productivity.
- Ensuring department KPI's are met.
- Prepare accurate reports for upper management
Requirements
- At least 4-5 years of experience form manufacturing and construction industry.
- Bachelor's degree with supply chain management or logistics or business management
- Preferred Experience using procurement software and data bases.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Effective communication skills.
