Manages logistics programs for contracted air, surface, and ground assets, ensuring efficiency and compliance with policies and regulations.
This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command.
As a Logistics Management Specialist at the GS-0346-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Provides logistics expertise for programs in contracted air, surface or ground assets. Provides guidance on performance, efficiency and use of best business practices across transportation, distribution and logistics related organizations. Provides functional program management for commercially contracted transportation capabilities to include but not limited to; Next Generation Delivery Service (NGDS) and Global Heavyweight Service (GHS) Program. Researches and analyzes transportation policy, doctrine, public laws, rules and their regulatory documents for purpose of establishing new policies and procedures. Develops and presents issues in oral and written form, e.g. briefings, requirements documents or staff studies providing program and project status, accomplishments, problems, requirements for support and promotion of objectives to senior military officers and civilians in other offices of the command and other organizations.
