This role requires you to lead and optimize logistics operations across applicable Yum! Brands in BU Africa, ensuring efficient transportation, warehousing, inventory management and distribution performance. The role strengthens third-party logistics partnerships, optimizes the regional network and total cost to serve, advances digitization, enables cross-brand collaboration and develops a high-performing logistics team.

Responsibilities:

Lead logistics operations and performance
•Oversee transportation, warehousing and inventory-management processes across BU Africa.
•Define and track logistics KPIs, including delivery accuracy, order fulfilment, transportation cost and inventory accuracy.
•Analyse processes, streamline operations, reduce lead times and improve overall logistics efficiency and customer service.
•Conduct regular market benchmarks and implement best-practice improvement plans.

Optimise the logistics network and cost to serve
•Analyze, optimize and redesign the logistics footprint and network, including distribution-center locations and transportation routes.
•Lead the planning, selection and implementation of new third-party logistics providers and distribution centers
•Own optimization of total cost to serve and develop strategies that improve price-variance performance and commercial value.

Manage third-party logistics performance and partnerships
•Manage the performance of current third-party distributors and benchmark prospective 3PL partners.
•Lead onboarding of new 3PL partners to create sustainable competitive advantage.
•Build strong relationships that improve collaboration, reliability and contract negotiations.
•Make balanced recommendations and decisions on logistics cost, delivery reliability, partner selection and annual transport budgets.

Enable cross-brand integration and digitization
•Lead seamless integration of applicable Yum! Brands into an optimized logistics network across BU Africa.
•Develop and implement a logistics digitization strategy that improves transport, warehouse and inventory visibility.
•Leverage analytics and technology to strengthen decision-making and logistics performance.

Lead people and continuous improvement
•Lead, coach and develop two Logistics Coordinators.
•Develop high-performance capability within the BU Africa Logistics Management team.
•Promote collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement across internal and external partners.

Education:
•Minimum bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline.
•Industrial Engineering or an equivalent relevant qualification is preferred.
Experience:
•Minimum 10 years’ experience in supply chain planning and logistics management.
•Substantial experience in transportation, warehousing, inventory management, network optimisation and third-party logistics performance management.
•Demonstrated experience implementing logistics improvements, distribution centres, 3PL partnerships and technology-enabled change.
Knowledge and Skills:
•Strong knowledge of logistics and inventory-management best practices.
•Expertise in supplier and 3PL performance management, market benchmarking and contract support.
•Advanced analytics, data-driven decision-making and Excel proficiency.
•Commercial acumen, including transport budgets, price variance and total-cost-to-serve optimisation.
•Ability to resolve complex transportation, route, network, inventory, service and technology challenges under pressure.
•Strong leadership, coaching, collaboration and stakeholder-influencing capability.
