Description

Overview:

Hisense USA is looking for a Logistics Outbound Assistant Manager to turn logistics tracking and transaction data into clear, actionable analysis that leadership can use daily, weekly, and monthly. This role connects shipment visibility, transportation performance, warehouse activity, delivery results, and logistics costs to the decisions that keep products moving and customers served.

This is a hands-on analytical role for someone with 3–5 years of experience who can own reporting end to end: collect and validate data, build and automate reports, investigate exceptions, and recommend practical actions. You will partner with logistics, supply chain, warehouse operations, customer service, sales, finance, carriers, and third-party logistics providers to improve service, control costs, and reduce operational risk.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Monitor shipment status, pickup and delivery milestones, estimated arrival dates, open orders, warehouse backlog, and delivery exceptions. Identify late or at-risk shipments and provide leadership with a concise summary of issues, business impact, recommended actions, and follow-up owners.
  • Produce carrier and third-party logistics scorecards covering on-time pickup and delivery, transit time, shipment volume, backlog, damages, and claims. Explain trends and recurring failures, and recommend corrective actions with operations teams.
  • Summarize logistics spend versus budget, freight cost per shipment or unit, accessorial charges, service trends, and improvement initiatives. Explain key cost and service drivers and support forecasts and management reviews.
  • Combine logistics tracking and transaction data from transportation and warehouse systems, ERP records, carrier portals, freight invoices, and delivery confirmations into consistent, reliable reporting.
  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and semantic models that allow leadership to drill into performance by carrier, lane, warehouse, customer, and product.
  • Investigate root causes of delivery delays, dwell time, inventory movement discrepancies, freight cost variances, and avoidable accessorial charges; distinguish data issues from operational problems.
  • Partner with finance to validate freight charges, reconcile logistics spend, and identify billing discrepancies and potential savings.
  • Automate recurring data preparation and reporting, define and document KPI calculations, and flag missing, duplicate, stale, or inconsistent records.
  • Translate findings into clear recommendations and executive-ready presentations; track agreed actions and report whether changes improve service or cost.

Technical Skills:

  • Excel — advanced data manipulation, pivot tables, lookup functions, and Power Query for large logistics datasets.
  • Power BI — DAX, Power Query / M, semantic modeling, and dashboards for operational and leadership reporting.
  • SQL and databases — ability to query, join, and validate shipment, order, inventory movement, and freight cost records.
  • Logistics systems and data — working knowledge of transportation management systems, warehouse management systems, ERP data, shipment milestones, and proof-of-delivery records.
  • Applied analysis — trend analysis, variance analysis, root-cause investigation, and consistent interpretation of logistics KPIs.
  • Report automation — ability to build scheduled reporting with minimal manual touchpoints and appropriate data quality checks.
  • Python — ability to read, run, and adapt existing data preparation or reporting scripts is desirable.
  • Practical AI fluency — uses approved AI tools to support analysis and automation, protects confidential data, and verifies outputs before they inform decisions.
  • Storytelling with data — presents clear findings, operational impact, and recommended actions in PowerPoint and concise leadership summaries.

Who you are:

    • Detail-oriented and confident questioning inconsistent numbers, missing milestones, and unexpected cost or service changes.
    • Able to connect analytical findings to operational priorities, customer impact, and practical next steps.
    • Clear and concise when communicating with non-technical stakeholders, from warehouse and transportation teams to executives.
    • Comfortable balancing urgent daily exceptions with weekly reporting and monthly analysis.
    • Curious, self-motivated, and adaptable; follows issues through to resolution and manages competing stakeholder requests.
    • Operates with integrity and handles business and customer data responsibly.

    Qualifications:

    • 3–5 years of experience in logistics analysis, transportation analytics, supply chain analytics, or a comparable analytical role.
    • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, business analytics, operations, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
    • Experience analyzing shipment tracking data, logistics costs, and carrier or warehouse performance.
    • Experience delivering recurring operational reports and presenting actionable recommendations to leadership.
    • Experience with consumer electronics, major US retail accounts, or third-party logistics operations is a plus.
