Logistics Specialist

Summary

Oversee import/export logistics operations, manage shipments, documentation, and compliance with customs and regulations in Malaysia.

  • To oversee, coordinate and improve the daily logistics operations (import & export) to ensure they run seamlessly and efficiently while strictly adhering to all applicable rules, regulations, legislative requirements.
  • To manage daily and project-based shipment activities, including shipping documentation, booking arrangements, and close follow-up, in accordance with standard operation procedures.
  • Responsible to coordinate shipment activities with forwarding agents, port & other relevant agencies, ensuring smooth and efficient operation.
  • To liaise with Customs Officers and relevant government authorities regarding shipment activities, import/export regulations and required documentation.
  • To effectively manage and control logistics cost through strong administrative oversight and adhere to expedited freight procedure.
  • To manage movement of customers' materials and equipment to and from suppliers (both internal and external) and ensuring all project requirements are met in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining good record keeping and tracking system as per SLB record keeping requirement and local authorities' legislations whichever is appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance to SLB health, safety and environment policies.
  • Adhere to all company and legal requirement as per Johor-WI-A03-Roles, Responsibilities, Accountability and Authority (HSSE) document.
  • To adhere and comply with logistics import procedure (Johor-PR-006) and export procedure (Johor -PR-007).

Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chanin Management, Business Management/Administrative, or its equivalent.

Minimum 2-3 years working experiences in MNC, preferably specialized in Freight / Shipping / Logistics or equivalent.

  • Familiar with MRP (preferably SAP), Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiar with Incoterms 2020 rules. Logistics import/export exposure in USA, UK, Europe, China is an added advantage and familiar with Customs, Malaysia rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of import and export permit application via MITI, Chamber of Commerce or relevant authorities.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, good negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken of English and Bahasa Malaysia.
